Start your Online Business with the END RESULT in mind.
***Make Money Online***
I have always had a love-hate relationship with the last two months of the year. Reviewing short- and long-term goals while mentally preparing for the chaos of the shopping malls decorated with shiny things to make us buy things that we don't need with money we don't have.
We need mental toughness to help us fight the alluring mindset of the masses.

As we start winding down towards the end of the year, it's natural to spend some time reflecting on the recent past, challenges overcome and goals reached. In some cases, we have to acknowledge the hard reality that a few of our goals were not achieved and that we need to go back to the drawing board.
What could prevent us from boasting about our business success?
- The pandemic?
- The slow economy?
- The cost of living?
- Social media information overload?
- The 'too much research before taking action' syndrome?
You see, we could think of numerous excuses, but what does that help? Nothing.
We need solutions people; we need to focus on what's possible and not on what is preventing us from achieving a certain goal. Have u ever watched a group of ants on a mission? If you put a twig or a leave or even a log in their path, what do they do? That's right, they walk over it, around or underneath it.
Now, in today's tech-driven, 'social media madhouse' world, it is very easy to suffer from information overload. This in return creates a vicious cycle of non-performance. Like zombies, we walk around and mindlessly scroll through our feed while accomplishing nothing. Our attention spans are super short and we continuously wait in anticipation for the next dopamine fix, likes, and shares from our make-believe social media dilemma.
When confronted with too many options, we tend to not choose anything.
Example: You promised yourself that you are going to start an online business. You did the right thing by doing research. Unfortunately, there is a chance that you could end up doing too much research and not taking action. You follow 20 business gurus online; you have read 14 books on the subject and there are another 10 waiting to be read. You spend half your day watching YouTube videos and feel 'clever' for doing so, because you are doing the Right, thing, right?
Follow two mentors, read two books, and master its contents. Take action and start your business!
As an online business owner, you need to be very careful that you don't end up consuming more than what you create. You are in a unique situation that you can potentially influence the reader or viewer of your content. Are you just another mumbo-jumbo content creator trying to be funny and hungry for any likes and subscribers, or are you seriously putting some thought into the content that you create?
Are you actually following a content creation calendar that you execute with military precision or do you get sidetracked by 'other things?' You see it's great to create a content creation calendar, but if you don't achieve its goals then it's worthless.
Why is it so difficult to stick to the game plan?
- Distraction.
- Information overload.
- Lack of clarity in goals.
You sit down to write the script of your YouTube video and before you end the first paragraph you have glanced at your phone 7 times, quickly scrolled through Instagram, peeked at your inbox, and watched a 5-minute video from one of the gurus that you follow. Because it's relevant right? Wrong.
If you sit down to write your blog, business plan, or YouTube script you have to remove your distractions. Focus on what is in front of you and finish the task.
- Switch off your phone or put it on silent.
- Leave your phone in another room.
- Make a pact with yourself that you won't check on your email while creating content.
- Stick to your creation calendar.
- Pen down short- and long-term goals and connect them to end dates.
Start with the END RESULT in mind.
- Write down a vision statement of where you would like your business to be at the end of the next year.
- Be very clear and realistic.
- Once you have done this you need to become consumed by the outcome of your goals.
- Limit your time online, create more than what you consume and focus on achieving every goal you wrote down.
